"I know precisely what you mean, I don't remember the last time I slipped into court and I didn't have people bowing and curtsying. Before the rumors started that I was going to be elected princess people hardly glanced, let alone dropped to the flow at my feet." He let out a small laugh, the boy's smile never growing brighter, or dimmer. It just simply stayed at that same slight crooked stance. It was like he never learned to raise the left side of his lips into a smile, seeing how the boy always had that little crooked grin on his face. Sure, on an extremely rare occasion would the smile actually blossom into a full blown one, showing his pearly white teeth... But the boy was never happy any more. To much had happened, to many people had been killed by his hands. Never would he had thought that being his rank would be so difficult... So the man just took the best that he could from it, joking at every chance he got when not with his men.
"Ya. It is kinda strange to have some of the men that used to spit in my face bow to me now. Yet, it's kinda ironic if ya think about it." A small shrug, and the man looked back up the the princess's eyes, that little calming glint present as always. He continued on, reassuring the girl of a few facts. Raul? He was always... Different in that way. The boy had a talent for saying the right things, at the right time. Yet, sometimes he would say something that didn't come out right, and people would laugh under their own minds. He always laughed with them, being stuck in the mind of a teen boy, but never once would he not be embarrassed. That, right there, was what made him different. The simple fact that the boy could move people so quickly, from happy and laughing, to crying.
"I hope you are right," She said with hope. Raul nodded, and used his shoulder to push himself from leaning to the wall. "I'm pretty sure I am. What other good am I then for advice? I stay cooped up in my office all day, and get excited when I have not paperwork. that's how boring my life is..." A small pause, and Raul laughed, his smile growing ever so slightly. "For your sake I hope you don't have much paperwork." Opening the door, the boy looked over his shoulder, and nodded. "Well, I have to get back to work. You are welcome to join me if you so wish, but do have a good day m'lady."
