The town square. Full of people and activity. If one wanted to get a good glimpse of how people lived, this would be the perfect place to go for the sight. Clear skies, nice and sunny for now. And everything was going more or less as it often did. That was when the scream pierced the rumble of so many voices.
The scream was not without merit by any means. The poor man was stumbling back as the air in front of him looked as if it were torn apart. This alone hadn't brought the scream out, it was the ghastly being that stepped through this rift.
Oroan looked around as he stepped through the rift, knowing that it would be the only time he would ever do so until he was reborn. He noticed he was in the northwest area of the town square, populated, but not as heavily as some areas. Naturally the place I emerge is in the center of a kingdom. Of all the rotten luck He thought as he fully emerged, his skeletal visage, wrapped in loose clothing coming into this world.
His glowing eyes looked about, taking in the reactions of those around him with a degree of amusement. he wasn't even releasing his pheromones, and these people looked terrified. Not that he could really blame them. In fact he was more worried about if the town guard arrived. He didn't mind striking down those who opposed him, but he'd avoid killing if he could.
Looking around once more he spotted what he wanted and went into a crouch and lept toward the roof of a building, planning on leaping out of the area. However, he crashed into the side of the building and through the wall. He realized, too late. That the gravity here was slightly less demanding and he had put too much forward momentum into his jump.
Standing up and dusting himself off, he looked out through the hole he had inadvertently created, and saw the town guard running toward the building he was now in. "Curses, this was not the entrance into this world that I had been planning" He muttered mentally, his telepathy not being focused, his 'speech' was available for most to hear as he darted out an open window, landing between two buildings and looked around to see if he was alone or not.

Genira's step was light as she meandered down the town's path, keeping her head low so she wouldn't be noticed. A fox mask lightly rested over the girl's face, held up by her cheeks. The girl's light purple eyes peered out of the mask's eye holes, the glint of a happiness shining through the mask. Her hood was pulled up, covering the girl's ears and hair, only letting the blond show. A cape lightly draped around her clothing, snapping at the girl's heels like a chained wolf biting after it's master's heels. Yet, she held herself so lightly, with pride, and beauty that many recognized when she wasn't hiding her beautiful, and delicate features, present upon the girl's flawless face.
Her eyes shifted amongst the crowd as a man's cry out was herd over the people. She quickly shifted around the people towards the alarming sound, letting out quite a few words of pardoning. She made it to the front of the crowd in just enough time to see a demon-like-been stepping into the world, unfortunately for him right in the middle of town. The creature went to jump onto one of the store roofs, misinterpreting the height and crashing through the wall of the building. Genira let out a small gasp, bringing her hands just to her collar bone.
The creature jumped away after letting out a small telepathic amount of words. She quickly bounced over towards where the demon had vanished, figuring that he couldn't be much harm to her health. People judged far to much, not caring to know what someone was thinking, or wanting to tell another. Humans, they really needed to go back to the old customs, and actually show respect to all other humans.
Her step was silent as Genira came around one of the corners, and looked to the creature. "Are you okay?" Genira asked while stepping to where she was about fifteen feet away. The girl paused, and crossed her arms while peering over the man. Her cap veiled the girl's body, and the mask hid her face, giving an heir of mystery into the air. Yet, something that lingered in the air showed something about her, just relieving how there could even be light in the darkest of places.

Oroan looked over to the source of the voice. Interesting He thought, seeing the difference in reactions. The first human had screamed bloody murder just because he had arrived. This person seemed more concerned about how he was doing.
"I am fine, but thank you for your concern" He said as he stood to his full height, which made him tower over many people. The ghastly sight of him was only covered by the cloak without the hood, the scarf and the pair of pants tied at his waist.
He gave this person a quick glance and from her voice and what he could make out of her form, she was likely female, He wasn't so sure with races that were not demons. She also had a presence about her that was almost uplifting, a feeling the Oroan didn't experience often. It was almost like stepping into a warm bath after coming in from a walk in a blizzard.
Checking over his shoulder, he confirmed that nobody seemed to be approaching yet, but that wouldn't last long. "I am sorry to rush my introduction, I am Oroan, and it's seems I might need a place to abscond to for a short amount of time. And as you seem level headed, I would seek your help." He said. Oroan wasn't sure if he could trust this person, but it seemed to be wiser to ask her for help than to approach the crowd who's initial reaction was terror.

The demon turned to face Genira, and seemed to look her over. he stood, towering over the girl by about a foot and a half. The height difference scared many, but not the girl. She had dealt with much taller, and much more threatening looking people in her life, and she knew that they all had a story behind them. Something that gave them the option to live longer then most. Well, her species did indeed last much longer than others, seeing how they had lived in vast mountains most of their lives. Yet, she was only nineteen years old, the youngest one, and the only one left from her original tribe.
"I am fine, but thank you for your concern" She offered a small nod before asking her second question, the girl's voice sounding like angels singing as it always did. "Are you sure? Nothing hurts does it?" The girl's nature was so sweet, and she was so innocent for her age. There was a distinct difference with her compared to any other person in the kingdom. One that was hard to describe. Many, even if they were paid to, found it hard to hurt the girl, or even see her when she was down.
"I am sorry to rush my introduction, I am Oroan, and it's seems I might need a place to abscond to for a short amount of time. And as you seem level headed, I would seek your help." He needed her help? She could most likely guess why. It was a sure fact that this girl was not stupid, and much less inexperienced with the world. "My name is Genira," She lightly pulled down her hood, revealing two cat ears that lingered upon her head. If there was one thing that she was taught it was to introduce yourself without your mask, or it was a sign of disrespect to the dead.
Lightly pulling the white and red mask from her face, Genira quickly tucked it away in her cape, and looked up, soft eyes containing the same smile as before. her face was soft, and welcoming. Her lips, a pale pink. Many would say she was beautiful, but she just called herself unique. "It is a pleasure to meet you Oroan. In what do you need my assistance this morning?" A small smile stay lightly curved on the girl's lips, just sending even a warmer feeling into the air. It was no magic, but rather a simple ora the girl carried around without knowing it.

Though he had stated he was fine, the girl asked once more if he was alright. He simply gave a nod in answer for the moment, noting that the young woman seemed sincere, and then cocked his head while listening to the noises around them. Fortunately the crowd still seemed to be deciding where to go, but that could change quickly
The girl removed her hood and introduced herself. At some level he noted that she had what some would call an exotic beauty to her, something that didn't escape his eye, but he perceived it as little more than a fact at the moment. Though that odd presence she gave off simply from her mood, helped Oroan to keep himself from simply taking off right away and chancing a large group following him for some time.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Genira. He replied as he took the time to look back at her fully and locked eyes with her as he often did when he was conversing with people. "What I need is a good place to hide until I can get my bearings. I carry nothing with me but what you see, though I would be grateful for your help, and I always remember favors." He said.
Oroan felt that a helping hand could never be fully repaid until he had helped in turn. This young woman seemed to be kind enough, but some times even the kindest person was at a point where they couldn't afford free favors, he hoped this wasn't one of those time.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Genira." Genira had found it intriguing how this one spoke through telepathic waves. Very few people were able to do something of the sort, and only with years of training could they possibly even begin to send waves to another person, let alone keep it concealed to a single been. But rather, this demon had seemed to master it, only needing to look at her, or know her location to speak to her. He looked back, and made eye contact as any would in a conversation, making the girl's smile lightly grow by the slightest amount. She really did love people, and respected the ones with enough gut to look her in the eyes when they were to speak to her.
"What I need is a good place to hide until I can get my bearings. I carry nothing with me but what you see, though I would be grateful for your help, and I always remember favors." A place to hide? When with the girl, nobody ever had to hide. She had a way of convincing people everything was okay, even when it wasn't. If there was a situation where hundreds were going to die, she could convince a crowd it was for the best, and that everything was going to be okay. It was but a simple talent that she had obtained over her short life span. something that the girl was able to use into her account.
"Hide? Why would you have to do that? come along." The girl offered her small hand forward, pushing the cape to the side lightly only to show her perfect, and delicate figure. ti was covered in loose fitting clothing, not seeming to be made for women. She lightly led the demon with her out of their current location, making many people gasp at the sight. All she did was smile, and wave before a few of the city guard ran to meet her, and to kill the 'abomination', as they called Oroan.
"Please, do let me continue on. Obviously my friend her is not going to hurt you, so why would you want to hurt him?" A lightly concerned look from Genira, and the men paused. A small nod of their head, and a "Yes madam, you are right..." from them, and the girl went on, catching the glances of villagers. She was leading the boy to a near deserted part of town, the part where people feared nothing. Where they were demons themselves, or held demons within their hearts.
A small smile up, as they two hid in plain sight, and she let her hand lightly release Oroan's. Her smile had returned by then, and her gaze directed up to meet the demon's. "A place like this what you were thinking of?" she asked while gesturing towards the barren part of town, deserted by it's inhabitants long ago. It was a place she came for peace, the only place that seemed to not be a simple hell, awaiting to burst at any moment with violence.

Why would I need to hide? I can think of one big reason right around the corner. He thought, keeping that one to himself. He had seen how ugly things could get with most humans upon his arrivals throughout his reincarnations. He didn't hold any ill will toward such ignorance, though he found it a pity that it made it hard for him to gain a better understanding of those from this realm, that fear of the unknown.
This young woman seemed different though, even holding out her hand to him. He twisted his hand so hers wouldn't be cut by the sharp inside curve of his claws, and curiously followed this intriguing young lady, giving a slightly confused look when she simply walked to the crowd. As expected a small group of guards approached. Oroan didn't move, but he did tense, ready to act in whatever way needed, but after a few words, things seemed to be handled.
Interesting, it has been almost five hundred years since my last incarnation, but things certainly seemed to have changed, perhaps it was the method of my arrival that was the real focus of the issue. He thought as he let Genira lead him along. They were soon in an area that confirmed his theory about what really caused the fright, other demons and those who didn't seem to have a problem with them occupied this area.
Genira then asked what he was thinking about where he appeared. If he could have smiled, he would have as he looked down to meet her gaze. "I had little choice. My masters have turned my home into something I can no longer stand to be a part of. As I left I needed to create a tear between our realms that couldn't be traced, the spot needed parelled with the area in your realm that I arrived in. Though it is also sealed, no one can follow through it and cause such a stir again." He explained as they walked along, now a little more long winded as he was relaxed.
"So how long have demons been so common in your realm?" He asked, wondering how much he had missed during his lapse between lives. Though to be honest he was grateful for this turn of events, it would make things much more pleasant for the time he was in this realm.

"I had little choice. My masters have turned my home into something I can no longer stand to be a part of. As I left I needed to create a tear between our realms that couldn't be traced, the spot needed parelled with the area in your realm that I arrived in. Though it is also sealed, no one can follow through it and cause such a stir again." the girl nodded, and smiled up to him. "Ya, I don't think they could handle another person popping out of nowhere." A light giggle curled into the air as Genira covered her lips, attempting to hold back most of her laugh, in fear it might offend him. Some beens were strange, and hated other's laughter.
"So how long have demons been so common in your realm?" Pausing, and touching her index finger to her lips, the girl crossed her left arm over to touch her elbow, and she stared up into the sky. "Well, demons have lived amongst us for millions of years, but ones that are distinctly demons, like yourself no offense, they are rare to find, generally feared by society due to the thought of older stories of demons devouring the human's soul." A small nod of approval for her explanation, Genira lightly folded her hands behind her back, and then looked up to Oroan.
"People just are not used to others who are taller than them." She was full of facts, but didn't exactly know everything about everything. Just the quick facts. Lightly bouncing a few more feet, the girl paused, and perked her ears. Her light eyes scanned around the landscape, picking up the smallest things. Any little detail, she loved to remember these things, all helping with small parts of her life.

Gave a small nod in acknowledgment. It was clear that full demons such as himself were still not fully accepted yet, though he couldn't fully blame the residents of this realm. Several of those stories were true enough, though the demons that they feared often strayed from this realm most of the time.
"No offense taken, the fears of these people are not completely unfounded." He replied as he looked around and watched the comings and goings of this place, so much different from where he normally resided. He couldn't help but be drawn in when watching Genira take everything in. She had more life in her than most other beings he had met, which was actually very relaxing for the most part, and her openness was also something he wasn't used to. Most of his masters were very secretive, and they were the primary people he had interaction with.
"So Genira, do you know of anywhere I could stay until I figure out what I am going to do next?" he asked. he knew he would be in the realm for a while and had to get settled in for quite a while. It would be at least a century before he would enter his home realm once more, that wasn't much time considering the total years of his past incarnations, but it was long enough to force him to make his way in this realm for a while.

"No offense taken, the fears of these people are not completely unfounded." The girl shrugged, and glanced around the landscape. "People are cruel, and don't understand others as they used to." A light gaze shifted backwards to the man as Genira peered over her slender shoulder. She was such a petite girl, making it possible for her to slip into closed off areas easily. There was not even a small amount of fat to be found on the girl, seeing how she was always moving around, and keeping off her weight due to a large amount of jogging that she got every day.
"So Genira, do you know of anywhere I could stay until I figure out what I am going to do next?" Somewhere he could stay? Originally, that would be a hard one. But seeing how the girl had owned a small house in the town, it was simple. "You could stay in one of my spare rooms." The girl offered while bouncing off in the direction of her home. She hadn't been to the location much, but it was satisfying to be able to say you had a home, somewhere that was safe for you to stay and you could do anything you want with it.
The house was a small wooden one, the roof standing at eight feet, and the door way just about seven. The exterior looked like a traditional log cabin, it being the easiest and cheapest to run across now days. On the inside the the building stood a table, a few chairs, and several other door passages. Two of which were bedrooms, and the other being a room with a fire place, made specifically for cooking. the floors were of oak trees, and the walls were plastered with mud and leaves to keep in all of the heat. She wasn't stupid, the girl wasn't going to have a window, but rather just a warm little cozy house generally lit by candle light.
She stepped into the home gracefully, dropping off her cape on one of the dining room chairs, Genira opened her arms, and spoke. "Well, this is my home! It isn't the best quality, but it works for me." Lowering her arms, only to cross them behind her back, Genira wandered around the room, familiarizing her own home with what she had remembered. Everything was the same, so the home was left untouched. A light smile, and the girl looked over to Oroan, tilting her head lightly to the right. "You can stay here as long as you need."

Following Genira, he didn't fail to notice how she was able to move, she clearly kept in shape. He himself did not need to keep in shape, though he worked to keep in practice. His robe and scarf where whipped to the side by the light breezes, as they walked, giving him and almost ghostly appearance.
Once they arrived he took note of the place Genira called home. To Oroan it seemed just fine. Kept warm and with a comfortable amount of light from the candle, it had the effect of feeling very comfortable. He didn't duck when he entered out of reflex of any doorway under eight feet, and once inside he removed the scarf revealing the odd face. Oddly enough his face wasn't as skeletal, as most of his body, he lacked a mouth and nose, but aside from the skin color and eyes, he didn't look far off from a sharp featured human. The lack of mouth which was now revealed, would likely help Genira make sense of why his telepathy came so natural to him.
"Thank you for allowing me to stay here. I'll do my best to not intrude, besides. I'll be in this realm long enough to need a dwelling of my own, but for now, I'll still give thanks for your hospitality." He said as he draped his scarf over one shoulder and looked around a little more, taking note of the mud and leaves being used for insulation, this young woman also seemed to be resourceful, something he could relate too, he was likely to build his own shack away from the towns, he had always wanted to live in a forest. He figured that at some point he would asked Genira about local areas and the best place to get supplies. Now that he was able to relax he took a little more note of this newfound friend, for he couldn't think of someone like her as anything else even after this short time. He could certainly see that she seemed to be rather desirable to pretty much any humanoid male, along with her calming nature and resourcefulness, she made for a very pleasant person to be around.
Granted Oroan never took anything at face value, but he had the feeling that she was pretty sincere, besides, there wasn't any reason for her to cause him any grief, he wasn't known in this realm by his name, just his title. So for now he accepted things as they were and simply resolved to getting on his feet here and start figuring out what he would be doing.

"Thank you for allowing me to stay here. I'll do my best to not intrude, besides. I'll be in this realm long enough to need a dwelling of my own, but for now, I'll still give thanks for your hospitality." Genira's light eyes made contact with the demon's as he pulled the scarf from his face and neck. No nose and no mouth? Well, everyone was how they were and couldn't change it. Although her young mind filled with questions and explanations, all that the girl could do was smile, and reply to his thanks. "No, it's fine. Everyone should be welcomed into a home when they don't have one themselves, yet." She always looked towards the brighter side of things.
Motioning towards the small back room, the girl smiled, and spoke. "You could stay in that room. I think the bed is big enough, but if it isn't we could run out and buy an extra mattress." Stepping into the room, and lighting one candle on the end, which quickly shot around the room, spreading the fire around the ceiling of the place to revile light, Genira paused in the middle of the room. There was a small bed mat located upon the ground, plenty soft to sleep on, and piled with blankets. A small hand crafted cabinet stood tall in one corner, and a table with an old wooden chair in the opposite. A pile of parchment paper lye, unwritten on, on the desk. A small quill pen lye capped with fired clay, and a small ink bottle was pushed to the corner.
"Do you need anything else? Like I said, more bed space, something to eat, maybe some clothing?" Genira was the type of girl who always made sure that her guests were well suited, and comfortable in her home. Wasn't it the duty of the homeowner for the house to be nice for your guests? Well, all until they try something. the last guest that Genira had killed someone, and brought it into her home. It was needless to say she was furious, and kicked him out nearly instantly.

Following Genira to the room he looked around for a moment and gave a small nod. "This will do just fine. As for food, don't concern yourself with that. I don't gain nourishment that way." He said as he hung his scarf over the back of the chair. "As for clothing. I should be fine, I've become accustomed to this. And I curl when I sleep so the bed is fine. Once again you have my thanks." He added before looking back to the young woman and the way his eyes seemed to shift, he gave the impression that he was giving her a smile of sorts.
"So is there anything I can do around the house while I am here? I have always refused to stay in another person's home without lending a hand, even if it's a simple task." It wasn't that Oroan didn't acknowledge kindness for the sake of kindness, he just felt such things should be rewarded even if the person wasn't looking to be rewarded.
This was one of the things that had made him an oddity in his realm, he attested it to his long life to date. It helped him view things slightly different from his brethren, though it seemed more common in this realm than in his own, something he knew could make life pleasant here until it was time for him to return.

"This will do just fine. As for food, don't concern yourself with that. I don't gain nourishment that way." The demon draped his scarf over the back of the desk chair, letting it dangle until the movement stopped on it's own. "As for clothing. I should be fine, I've become accustomed to this. And I curl when I sleep so the bed is fine. Once again you have my thanks." She could see why he would be comfortable with the clothing. When wearing something for so long, it became a custom to just wear the cloth you had, making it somewhat of a comfort zone. For Genira? It was a cape draping around her shoulders, and a mask. She always wore those two articles of clothing, and what was under the cloth was but simple baggy clothing, elegant.
This man looked to her as if he were smiling, bringing a large smile, slightly showing her starling white teeth. They were hardly visible, but still there. "So is there anything I can do around the house while I am here? I have always refused to stay in another person's home without lending a hand, even if it's a simple task." She paused, and looked around. There was really nothing that had to be done. Genira never even really had to do things of the sort. She just came, lived for a bit, and left, the house standing as clean as a dirt covered home could be.
"Not that I know of. You could come and collect a few herbs with me, if you wish though." She did indeed make many potions, keeping her stock plentiful just in case one day she might have needed it. Well, there were many days she needed things. Usually venturing beyond the city limits, and ending up in bad situations, the girl always had a few good potions on hand. Lightly carrying herself out of the room, and to the front door, Genira paused, and looked back. "Or if you wish you could stay here, whatever you want to do." A bright smile lifted the girls cheeks ever so slightly, and she let her steady gaze meet with the man's eyes, awaiting his reply.

Oroan thought for a moment and figured he would chose the former of the two options presented. "Collecting the herbs sounds like a good way to get out and about for a little while." He replied, as he followed Geria and kept looking around the place. He found it odd that a small building like this felt more natural to him than the spiraling towers back in the place he used to call home.
One would say I almost had it too easy here. He thought as he patiently waited for Genira to lead the way to wherever they were going to, she was at the front door, which suggested to him that she was already heading out to complete her task. And he had to admit that her smile was... intoxicating so to say. He once more gave his own mouthless 'smile' in return as he met her eyes again, something about her drew him in, made him want to learn a little more about her and he figured helping her collect the herbs was an opportunity he shouldn't pass up.
